When my stylists suggested I post a “Day in the Life” of sorts, I was a little resistant, until I began to analyze the steps I take to stay strong and healthy. Every day, I am pushed to physical limits that my body at 41-years old just isn’t as quickly adapting to. A 10 hour day on my feet, while push/pulling hair dry all day, and exposure to every cold and flu in town, is a lot to take. However, a sick day is just not in the cards for me with a schedule booking a year in advance. So….
I sip this while taking my Vitamin D3 5000mg, Calcium and Magnesium (mine is from Metagenics) and Juice Plus Capsules in veggie and fruit. I take one veggie and one fruit both morning and again before bed. (These are the equivalent of 18 servings of fruits and vegetables that have been freeze dried in a bio-dome).
Our family also takes one capsule of Blue Ice Royal Butter Oil/Fermented Cod Liver Oil Blend. A client introduced me to Fiber Smart pills from Renew Life about 4 years ago and I love them. With probiotics built in, they keep my digestive track running smoothly.
I get up and running around 6am beginning with Eminence Organic Skincare and jane iredale cosmetics, I am ready for the day by 6:45. I make the kids and I scrambled eggs every morning. The night before Kevin and I prepare glass water bottles with another dropper of LDM-100, 1000mg of Vitamin C, and a full dropper of Green Tea Elixir (I find it gives me energy as well as all the benefits of green tea. I’ve tried other kinds, but this tastes the best.) that I will sip throughout the day at Verde.
Whole Foods has pre-juiced bottles of different mixes of juice made fresh every morning and I’ll pick these up 3-4 at a time. One of these 10 oz bottles is my 10:30 snack.
For lunch, I love Chao’s Thai food (the yellow curry chicken is absolutely amazing). However, sometimes I’ll have clients back to back and no time to eat, so I am addicted to Juice Plus Complete Meal. At 120 calories when mixed with 16 oz of water, it comes in dutch chocolate and vanilla, this is a fast way to stay strong and sip “lunch” while with a client. Our family also loves this at night with fruit and veggies, chia and flax seeds, and turmeric for a thick, well-balanced smoothie. (Sugar free and Dairy Free)
Mid-day I will sip Lemon Flavored Liver Detox Tea from Traditional Medicinals before heading home by 7. My husband usually makes or picks up dinner. We love a non-chopped salad from Subway with spinach and veggies or we split the Buffalo Burger with Sweet Potato Fries at Whole Foods! So good. We also love grilled asparagus, fish of all kinds, quinoa, broccoli… whatever is quick to grab and the fridge is always stocked with healthy options. It’s a team effort, all the time!
I used to push my body with Pilates (I owned my own reformer!), as I am a HUGE fan of exercise, but injury has made me take life a little slower and easier. I do light calisthenics, rain or shine, no excuses. I believe completely in the necessity to stay limber as we age and do just enough to keep bones strong and everything “north”! 75 squats, 3-1 minute wall sits, Pilates floor work, I don’t exceed about 15 minutes, moving quickly, and usually am watching TV with the kids. (Reality.) I have found this to be a great middle-ground for me that ensures I actually stick with what I’m doing.
The day ends with Whole Foods Organic White Cheddar Popcorn and Organic Animal Crackers. This is my treat for the day and low in calories. I will sip Nighty Night Tea from Traditional Medicinals while soaking in a hot bath with 2 cups Epsom Salts and Eminence Organic Skincare Apricot Body oil. Lights out is no later than 10:30 after taking my evening Calcium/Magnesium pill and Juice Plus capsules. I fall asleep immediately and sleep all night, ready for another day of beauty and fun with people I love.
*Everything I take for my body has been checked out by my Homeopathic Physician and is cleared for my use. This is not recommended for anyone, but simply what works for me.
